Several weeks ago, just prior to the Christmas Holiday, I was trying to figure out a way to help a kid I mentor at WSHS in the Bear Connections Mentoring program get a laptop. My Mentee's family did not have a working computer in their home nor the funds to buy one and the kid really needed one for school. BTW: The WSHS Bear Connections program is headed up by one of our other WH neighbors Laura Grant of which whom does an amazing job. Anyway, I found an older work laptop I had from a few company upgrades ago, that hadn't been turned on in a few years, and asked a favor of Russ Depuy our WH neighbor at Winter Springs Computer Repair if he could see if it's possible to resurrect it from the dead. Not only was Russ able to revive the laptop but he also happily upgraded the ram memory levels as well. When Russ told me the laptop was completed I went to pick it up and he refused ANY compensation at all since it was for a kid in need that I was mentoring. It's people like Russ Depuy that make the world a better place and I'm proud to call him my neighbor and friend.
